The incoming committee for the motorcyclists’ cooperative (COMARU) in Rusizi district vows to realize the cooperative goals 7 times more than what was realized in the last 3 years of the cooperative.
This was said by the newly elected committee after reelecting it for another tem in the office after 3 years of leadership.
The reelected president of the cooperative Haruna Sibomana promised cooperative members who have driving permits support from the cooperative to extend their abilities and get off of the motorcyclists.
The reelected president said this is possible considering the achievements of the cooperative in the last 3 years with no credit at all.
Buying 64 motorcycles for the cooperative members, distributing cows among members and construction of a 4 storied house worth Rwf200 million which is still underway are some of the achievements of the cooperatives in the last 3 years term in the office.
Haruna Sibomana says these projects will be doubled 7 times because of the courage and honesty of the members. The cooperative was started in 2009 with 141 members with the main objective of getting its members from poverty. Today, this cooperative has 507 self sustainable members
Dieudonne Rafiki who works in the Rwanda Cooperative Agency appreciated the motorcyclists for their outstanding projects in the cooperative. Different leaders who were present on the swearing in of the new committee including the army and police as well as district administration, all appreciated the good work of this cooperative.
