The administration of KVCS (Kigali Veterans Cooperative Services) has said that all parking places in Musanze town will be charged.
According to the agreement made on October 10th 2012 by Musanze district authorities and KVCS, vehicles will be charged parking fairs in exchange for security.
Managing Director of KVCS Bossa Rwemarika says that charging vehicles in parking spaces is an initiative of the district to use and prepares to use experienced staff in parking space security.
Rwemarika adds that this program has come as a way of providing employment opportunities for people that cannot compete in the labour market starting with veterans.
In addition, the money collected from parking places will be used in different development activities in Musanze district.
Preparations are being done; organizing the office, putting materials in place and recruiting staff so that the work takes off soon.
However, the amount of money to be charged on every vehicle and how weekly or monthly parking permits will be paid are still debatable but the final decision will be made by resolutions of the district advisory committee.
The mayor of Musanze district, Winifrida Mpembyemungu asserts that this program will reduce theft of the parked vehicles.
